Presentation
For over 45 years, Mathys has been developing, producing and distributing products for the artificial joint replacement (hip, knee, shoulder, finger) as well as biological materials (bone graft substitutes). Joy for innovation, most modern technologies and quality without compromise are the foundation pillars of our history. The basis to success and the driving strength to make our products to world-wide standards is our staff.
We have had the same principle since 1946: be creative
At the beginning of the history of our company, there was quite a conventional factory: it was founded in 1946 by the then 25-year-old Robert Mathys senior. The company grew and flourished - and, at the end of the 1950s, it underwent its own «economic miracle». Robert Mathys senior discovered that he could also use his know-how to develop and produce stainless steel implants and instruments for bone surgery and orthopaedics. Operation mobility was set in motion to convert Mathys, over several years, into an enterprise specialised in medical technology, with branches throughout the world.
Since 2003, Mathys has been setting off in a new direction. With the name Mathys Ltd Bettlach, our international subsidiaries and we are now resolutely stepping up the expansion of the business segment orthopaedics.
Now, as before, the company feels duty-bound by the pioneering spirit of the founder of the company, Robert Mathys senior. We want to continue participating in shaping medical progress. Therefore, we will intensify the dialogue with our users. After all, this close exchange of ideas is the basis for innovations that take into account the requirements of customers and patients alike.
