The ESSKA - ZIMMER Joint replacement visiting fellowship is reserved to young surgeons from Europe, Middle East and Africa (20 candidates each year) who strongly wish to enlarge and improve their knowledge and competencies in orthopedic joints replacement surgery .
The fellowship allows the candidates to visit highly qualified teaching surgeons and recognized orthopaedic centers in Western Europe for four weeks.
Interested candidates are welcome to submit their applications throughout the year. ESSKA will publish periodically the list of fellows (or will notify periodically the fellows) awarded the grant for each specific program
Candidates must be, at the time of application, below 40 years of age. The scholarship lasts 1 month and the exact date of the fellowship will be chosen by the Head of the selected Centre in accordance with his availability.
The fellowship can only be won once. Applicants who have not been selected are allowed to apply again.
The amount of the grant is 3.000 EUR, which will have to cover all expenses of the applicant who, during his stay, will be lodged at his own expense. 2.000 € will be transferred to the respective host and be delivered to the fellow upon his arrival. The rest, 1000 € will be transferred to the fellow's account at the end of the fellowship after having completed seriously the provided questioner.

INSTRUCTIONS:
* Applicants must hold a specialist certification in Orthopaedics issued by their national authorities.
* Applicants must be under 40 years of age at the time of the application.
* A passport photograph must be attached to the application.
* Applicants must speak English fluently.
* Applicants must hold citizenship of any European Country, except for our ESSKA KNEE REPLACEMENT Visiting Fellowship where applicants can be citizenship of any European Country or Middle East or Africa.
* Attention! , the ESSKA Scholarship program is reserved to young colleagues from Eastern Europe only and from throughout the world.
* Applicants should provide a certificate of their employer allowing them to travel during the fellowship period.
* Applications must be completed at the address mentioned beneath.
* Attach 2 letters of recommendation from 2 different sponsors to the present application: One should be the orthopaedist/trauma surgeon with whom you have done the majority of your residency or fellowship. The other should be an orthopaedist/trauma surgeon who is familiar with the applicant’s work in the last 3 years. One of them must be ESSKA member

* List of all scientific presentations you have personally given at meetings during the last 3 years
* List of all DVD or videotapes you have produced or co-produced
* List of all the papers you have published (only those which appear in MEDLINE)
* List of all the textbooks, or chapters in textbooks, you have written or edited (title, authors, publisher, year)
